Arsenal Women pulling in higher average attendances than 10 Premier League teams
Arsenal Women’s remarkable attendance figures this season have surpassed those of 10 teams in the Premier League, underscoring the growing popularity of women’s football.
The recent clash between Arsenal Women and north London rivals Tottenham witnessed a monumental turnout at the Emirates Stadium, with 60,050 spectators witnessing the action-packed encounter. England’s Alessia Russo clinched victory for Arsenal with a decisive goal, contributing to the Gunners’ impressive 1-0 win.
With this latest attendance milestone, Arsenal Women’s average turnout for the season stands at a staggering 34,997 fans per match, surpassing the figures of 10 Premier League clubs. Throughout the season, Arsenal Women have drawn a cumulative total of 279,974 supporters, reflecting the surging interest in women’s football.
Arsenal’s commitment to women’s football is evident with five of their eight Women’s Super League home matches held at the iconic Emirates Stadium, with the remaining three hosted at Meadow Park in Borehamwood, boasting a capacity of 4,500.
Notably, Arsenal Women have achieved a sold-out Emirates Stadium thrice this season, demonstrating the enduring appeal of women’s football. The upcoming clash against Leicester City in April promises to be yet another momentous occasion at the Emirates.
