Bayern Munich interested in Man Utd transfer target Antonio Silva
Reports suggest that Bayern Munich is poised to challenge Manchester United in the pursuit of Benfica’s talented centre-back, Antonio Silva, during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Manchester United has already initiated discussions to secure Silva’s services and recently dispatched scouts to observe his performance for Benfica against Portimonense. As part of the club’s strategic overhaul under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s football operations, United is keen to bolster its defensive ranks, with several players expected to depart.
Silva, who could potentially follow in the footsteps of Victor Lindelof’s transition from Benfica to United in 2017, may join forces with Portuguese compatriots Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot at Old Trafford.
However, Bayern Munich aims to sway Silva away from United and enlist him at the Allianz Arena. Recent reports suggest that the Bundesliga powerhouse has been monitoring Silva’s progress closely and is impressed with his development. While Silva’s release clause stands at approximately €100m, Benfica may entertain offers in the range of €70-80m for the promising defender.
As the transfer saga unfolds, football enthusiasts eagerly await Silva’s decision, which could potentially reshape the defensive landscape for both Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the forthcoming season.
